Doylestown’s First Nonalcoholic Bar: Christa Vigilante of Free Spirit

What happens when you create the complete cocktail-bar experience without the alcohol?

On this episode of the Bucks Townies Podcast, we sit down with Christa Vigilante, founder of Free Spirit, to discuss the growth of her alcohol-free business and the upcoming opening of Free Spirit Social House in downtown Doylestown.

After building a loyal following at Free Spirit’s original Buckingham location, Christa is expanding the concept into a larger space designed for drinks, food, events and genuine community connection.

What Is Free Spirit Social House?

Free Spirit Social House is a new alcohol-free social destination planned for 29 South Main Street in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

The new location will expand upon the original Free Spirit bottle shop by offering handcrafted zero-proof cocktails, kava-based beverages, yerba mate, coffee, tea and food in a welcoming social environment. The team is targeting an August 2026 opening, subject to final approvals.

This is not simply a store selling nonalcoholic products. It is being created as a place where people can meet friends, enjoy thoughtfully prepared drinks and experience Doylestown nightlife without alcohol having to be the center of the evening.

Building Free Spirit in Bucks County

Christa opened the original Free Spirit location in Buckingham to give customers more interesting alcohol-free choices than soda, water or a basic mocktail.

The concept resonated with people who were sober, sober-curious, health-conscious or simply choosing not to drink on a particular night. As the community around Free Spirit grew, customers began asking for a larger place where they could sit, socialize and enjoy the experience together.

Free Spirit Social House is the next chapter of that vision.

The expanded Doylestown location will provide more room for customers, events and a broader food-and-beverage program. Reported menu plans include house-made zero-proof cocktails alongside nostalgic American food and Vietnamese- and Korean-inspired dishes.

Creating a New Kind of Doylestown Nightlife

Free Spirit is part of a larger shift in how people think about socializing.

Choosing not to drink does not necessarily mean someone wants to stay home or miss the experience of going out. Free Spirit Social House is being designed to give people another option—whether they have stopped drinking completely, are taking a temporary break or simply want a great alcohol-free cocktail between stops in Doylestown.

In our conversation with Christa, we explore the inspiration behind Free Spirit, the realities of growing a local business and what it takes to introduce a new hospitality concept to Bucks County.

We also discuss the importance of creating a space that feels inclusive rather than restrictive. The goal is not to separate drinkers from nondrinkers. It is to create an environment where everyone can feel comfortable gathering, relaxing and spending time together.
